The only way that the results - EU's 20 million enterprises moving to electronic invoicing and other document exchange can be achieved - is when all parties work together - and what could be the reason for not doing it?
Fast progress must be in everybody's interest - and especially large enterprises and the public sector has a lot to win when the mass market can deliver their documents with uniform data elements. To get there several interim steps are needed - the direction is however clear. Still there is a focus need right now - in Winston Churchill's words:
"It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link in the chain of destiny can be handled at a time."
