Working for Interoperability

Much of the productivity gains aimed at in the EU Expert Group for e-invoicing is coming from improved interoperability between standards and formats. The longer term target is that an increasing number of enterprises should be able to exchange financial messages without need for reformatting. Universal adoption will naturally take time but it should be recognised that a common model will add value on a progressive basis.

It will be interesting to see if market participants and observers will recoginize this - ie register the progress - or as far too often occurs - concentrate on the missing pieces - drowning the good news.
